 マルスウイスキーの新シリーズ、MARSTheY.A.＃01
このシリーズは、マルス蒸留所が新たなコンセプトのもと発売したファーストリリースになります。
いつものように風味は省略しますが、ボトルの裏面説明に「屋久島らしさを感じる」と書いてあり、屋久島らしさとは？と思わず突っ込みを入れたくなりますが、ここは南国トロピカルフルーツ的ということで、それ以上は追求しないようにしましょう。
何年か前から、温暖な地域で熟成されたウイスキーが話題になっています。
ご存知の通り、台湾のカバラン等はその代表的なものかもしれません。
そして、その温暖さは、熟成が速く進むだけでなく風味にも様々な影響を与えているのも有名なところです。
しかも熟成場所は世界遺産の屋久島。場所的なチョイスは良いと思いますが、できればセラーだけでなく蒸留所を造った方がアドバンテージが高まるのではないかと。もっとも、近くに津貫蒸留所があるので、流石にここには造らないと思いますが。
しかし、津貫蒸留所から近い屋久島にわざわざセラーだけを造ったのはなぜなんでしょう？
想像するに、より気温が高く寒暖差の少ないのと、日本有数の湿度の高さを考えて屋久島に造ったのかもしれません。
それから先述した通り、世界遺産の島というアドバンテージが、特に海外での販売に貢献する可能性もあるからかと。
いろいろ書きましたが、このシリーズのファーストリリースは、かなり早い売れ行きでほぼ市場には残っていないだけにこの機会にいかがでしょうか。

日に当たらないように冷暗所に縦置きで保管していました。自宅保管なので、その点をご理解の上購入をお願いします。
