 ネトルトン2001ロングウイングチップだ。アメリカンビンテージシューズのウイングチップを語るうえで、フローシャイム・インペリアル・ケンムーア・アレンエドモンズ・マクニール、そしてネトルトンTraditionals0205は三大巨塔と言っていいだろう。おそらく2001は、Traditionals0205の後継ペアと思われる。フローシャイム同様に厚いぺブルグレインレザー・ソールは重厚感あるのオールレザーダブルソール・ヒールリフトは釘打ち積み上げOwlEyeCleat仕様になっている。また、メダリオンはマクニールやケンムーアと比べ大きい印象だ。そのため、イギリスのカントリーシューズを思わせる無骨なディテールとなっている。
NETTLETON
アメリカはニューヨーク州の中央部に位置する、商業都市シーラキュースで1800年代に創業のシューメーカーで、1980年代には、倒産したようだ。その後FREEMANSHOEが復活を手がけたが失敗。高級シューズメーカーとして知られ、ライト兄弟やセオドア・ルーズベルト大統領などの著名人も愛用をしていた。ちなみローファーという名で商標を取ったのは、このメーカー。
近年、ネトルトンのブランドは再々リリースを果たし、良質なペアを製造している。
