BJFが設計したアンビエント・ディレイペダルDeepBlueDelay(DBD)は、アナログダイレクトシグナルパスを採用したナチュラルサウンドのデジタル／アナログディレイです。
クラシックなテープエコーユニットとほぼ同じ帯域幅を持ち、アンプのインプットの前段でもアンプのエフェクトループに接続しても使用できます。
ノイズリダクションを搭載していないため、エコーの減衰を極限までナチュラルにキープすることができます。
ダイレクトシグナルパスが短く設計されており、フィルタリングのないアナログアンプで構成されています。
入力レベルが許容最大値を上回らなければ音色の歪みや音痩せはありません。
エコーシグナルは、極端な設定でも干渉のない状態を可能にするフィルタリングで調整されています。
このディレイは、歪ませたトーンでも支障なく動作するように特別に設計されています。これは、ディレイエフェクトで見られる不具合に対する最も重要なアプリケーションで、このペダルは歪みの前段でも後段でも使用することが可能です。もちろん、エコー帯域幅やリピート音の形成に関して要求があまり厳しくないクリーンサウンドにおいては、さらに良い状態で機能します。そのトーンは、最初のクリティカル・リフレクションと、それがどのように減衰をリピートするかということに細心の注意を払って丁寧にチューニングされています。
